"My personal meditation and mindfulness practice helps me to be more aware and present each day; this brings me such joy, peace and ease that I wanted to find innovative ways to share the practice with others. In addition to leading workshops and retreats, I have written and produced audio recordings to help others develop or enhance their meditation practice. You can listen to my guided meditations on our website by visiting the Audio Meditations page." |
Patricia Baigent MSW, RSWPatricia has a master’s degree in Social Work and has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. Areas of expertise include; clinical supervision, compassionate leadership and caregiver fatigue. Patricia is passionate about caring for the caregiver; finding ways to create healthier work/home-lives for mental health professionals, first responders, health care workers and anyone that provides support either in a professional capacity or in their personal life. Patricia has led a mindfulness meditation practice group for five years. Learning about Self-Compassion helped provide the missing link to understanding why habitual self-criticism and constant striving was sabotaging her efforts - and those of her clients and friends - to create a more peaceful existence through meditation alone.
“I have witnessed first-hand how incorporating self- compassionate practice can help people become less reactive in their relationships, build resilience and have more personal satisfaction with their lives. Through MSC we can really learn how to be our own best source of emotional support; this is a life changing experience, and I can’t wait to share this with others through MSC training.” |

Cultivating Self-Compassion BlogNew Post: Savouring"In the final session of the 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion training program there is a teaching and practice on savouring pleasant experiences. After 7 weeks of learning to lean in to discomfort in a self-compassionate way, Session 8 is all about gratitude, appreciating beauty and savoring pleasant experiences. I usually feel that Session 8 is a little fluffy; simply a gentle way to wrap up the program in juxtaposition to the previous sessions’ focus on learning to respond to suffering.
